About Nancy
I am a licensed clinical social worker providing psychotherapy for individuals and couples. I work with my clients on a wide range of issues with the ultimate goal of helping them connect more deeply with themselves and others. My style is curious, empathic and engaged.
My training and work with individuals and couples draws on a foundation of psychodynamic psychotherapy and relational psychoanalysis. This means that the talk therapy I do is informed by the idea that our current feelings and behaviors are influenced by our past experiences. It also means that while the work focuses on you, unlike more traditional psychotherapies it is an interactive relationship between two people. Together, we form a unique partnership that facilitates introspection and growth.
As a lifelong learner I am also interested in other therapy modalities, and I integrate them into the work as appropriate. My training and knowledge includes attachment theory, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), addictions, trauma, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Imago Couples Therapy.
My areas of expertise include: anxiety, depression, relationships, pre and postpartum, recovery, trauma, chronic pain, children and grandchildren of Holocaust survivors. I also supervise graduate social work students and mental health professionals.
